Encarta provides articles and multimedia covering a broad range of historical and current-event topics and includes features such as: The Visual Browser which leads you deeper into a topic through a dynamic display of related content. Children’s Encarta helps children with homework support and encourages younger ones to learn in a fun and engaging way. It offers articles multimedia and games specifically for ages 12 and younger. Timelines provide a multimedia journey through historical events. Event descriptions can include related media a short essay or links to related encyclopaedia articles. Dictionary Tools allow you to find a word's definition a synonym or antonym for that word and foreign language translations all in one place. You can also hear pronunciations. This unit will take you through the basics of using Microsoft Encarta in the primary classroom.
