Description
Why do we need to know how to search for resources on the Internet? Information is stored on the Internet as a vast collection of inter-linked electronic pages. These pages are stored, or hosted on, thousands of Web servers worldwide. The amount of information held on these pages is massive. With such a huge amount of information available, it can be difficult to seek out useful documents amongst the many irrelevant ones and users can be easily overwhelmed as a result. So it is beneficial to know how to look for the information you require from these hundred of electronic pages. The purpose of this unit is to give you the skills to use the Internet to successfully locate resources which are suitable for learning and teaching. The World Wide Web offers an excellent opportunity to gain access to a wide range of resources presented in a variety of formats, including text, images, audio, video, animation, interactive games, discussion boards and lesson plans.
